On Sunday afternoon, the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics meet at TD Garden in Game 7 for a chance at a berth in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics got a big game from Jayson Tatum in Game 6 on the road on their way to a convincing 108-95 victory. The defending champion Bucks got 44 points from Giannis Antentokuonmpo but could not find a way to close it out at home. Boston opens Game 7 as a five-point home favorite. The first tip is at 3:30 PM ET.

Tatum Explodes in Game 6

Jayson Tatum scored 46 points and the Boston Celtics held on during a hectic fourth quarter for a 108-95 on Friday night, the third straight victory for a road team in this series. ''I wasn't going to leave anything out there and have any regrets,'' Tatum said to Associated Press reporters after the game. ''Just trying to do what it took.'' After the Bucks reduced a 14-point deficit to four with just under 9 minutes left, Tatum exploded for 16 of Boston’s 26 fourth-quarter points to put the game out of reach. Boston played an excellent game after they squandered a huge fourth-quarter lead at home two days prior.

Jaylen Brown added 22 points for the Celtics, who had it going from three-point range. The Celtics were 17 of 43 and the Bucks 7 of 27 from beyond the arc.''Tonight will be the first night since that game that I'll get some sleep,'' said Marcus Smart to AP Reporters, who had 21 points, seven assists, and no turnovers. Smart had two critical turnovers at the end of Game 5 that doomed Boston but played excellent defense on Jrue Holiday. Boston was without Robert Williams, and he is considered doubtful to play in Game 7.

Giannis Drops 44 and 20, Bucks Lose

Giannis scored a team-high 44 points and scooped up 20 rebounds but the Bucks could not contain Jayson Tatum in Game 6’s loss at home. ''I don't think anybody's won two games in a row in this series,'' Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said to AP reporters after the game. ''Now, it's the finality. You've got to go and find a way to get that fourth win and win the series. I think everybody in sports looks for that game.” The Bucks had won all eight of their potential series clinchers in Budenholzer's four-year tenure before Friday. This marked the first time the Bucks had lost a possible clincher since a Game 7 loss against these same Celtics in 2018.

Jrue Holiday scored 17 points and Pat Connaughton added 14. The Bucks were missing three-time All-Star forward Khris Middleton for a ninth consecutive game. Middleton sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee during Game 2 of the Bucks' first-round series with the Chicago Bulls. They needed him in a big way during Game 6. Besides Giannis, Holiday and Connaughton the other Bucks shot a combined 9 of 33 overall and 0 of 13 from 3-point range.
