Defense and goaltending struggled at the end of the season but were very good in the first round of the playoffs against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Carey Price took over the series against Toronto. He held the high powered offense to two goals or less in games six and seven. He was the main reason Montreal came back from a 3-1 series deficit to defeat Toronto in seven games. Price continued to play well in round two against the Jets. He allowed two goals or less in three out of the four games in the second round. Price was outstanding in round three against the Golden Knights. He allowed two goals or less in five out of the six games. Price has struggled in Stanley Cup Finals. He has allowed three goals or more in three out of four games against the Lightning. The Habs ended the season ranking 18th in goals against per game and sixth in shots against per game. Carey Price had a record of 12-7-5 with a 2.64 GAA and a .901 SV% this season.
Lightning Fail to Sweep CanadiensThe Lighting lost game four 3-2 in overtime and were unable to sweep the Canadiens and win the Cup. Pat Maroon and Barclay Goodrow each scored a goal. Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 18 out of 21 shots faced.

Brayden Point lead the team with 48 points during the season. Victor Hedman finished the season tied for third in points and fourth in assists among defensemen in the league.

The team finished the season ranking sixth in goals against per game and ninth in shots against per game. Andrei Vasilevskiy had a 31-10-1 record with a 2.21 GAA and a .925 SV% this season. He has started every playoff game and has been excellent.
